it's a social networking site, cinemageddon has no place on there. cg is a private tracker. we don't need to be around on some social networking bullshit because it potentially draws attention to us. i've personally contacted owners and shut down 2 groups on facebook in the past.
well, now that we've laid out how everyone feels about all this, it's time to announce that CINEMAGEDDON IS NOW ON FACEBOOK. it's currently a closed community and after a few days it's going to go invite only.
well, why would we do this or decide that it's in any way acceptable is a very valid question that some among you may want to ask. so you can put you hand down now, ugchi, i'm getting to that. facebook recently overhauled the way that it handles user profiles and the way people like things. for example, if you're on facebook and you list stuff and things as your interests, facebook will now create groups for both stuff and things and it will put you in to groups of people with similar interests. these groups are by default, completely open and visible to the public. what's more, if you ever mention stuff or things in your feed, it will post to the pseudo groups wall. well, imagine if a bunch of users put cinemageddon as their interest on facebook. well, that already happened and we have a pseudo group there right now as well, hopefully we can get people in the know and on the real group and that one will simply cease to exist.
so, to sum it up, we don't belong on facebook, but if it's something that has to happen, we're going to make it a private group and maintain control over it. feel free to request to join the group or leave feedback on why you hate us all in this very thread. also, as an unwritten rule, let's all avoid linking to the site and mentioning torrents on the group page. anyone want a pizza roll? these are good pizza rolls.
