Correct me if I'm wrong - if you use TOR while taking on average traffic of the TOR net, consisting of people using it for downloading torrents and watching CP, you basically act as a lure for FBI?

So it doesn't help if you use it for scrambling your traffic if you are looking for illegal stuff. It could even make it worse for you if you are downloading only on an occasion.

Or am I missing something?

I heard a lot of people are using TOR, because they are scared of being tracked down. I just wanted to know if that's pointless or not.
