OphCrack from a USB flash drive

Name: Bobby Christina 2012-05-19 18:36

Greetings COMP,

I have a netbook from a customer who's son put a password on it and then forgot it. I say customer loosely because I just started a little PC repair service for the summer. I've heard Ophcrack is about one of the best options only the netbook doesn't have a disc drive, naturally. Therefore I have to boot Oph from a USB only I have no idea about prepping a flash drive to boot.

If I could put it on a disc then it'd be alot more smoother to boot I'd think, because it looks for a disc before it would a flash drive.

Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. I do not need to know the password, I'm basically just looking for a reset.

Or if there's any good password guessers lurking he has a picture of a yellow Lambo sports car as his user pic and the password hint is "lambo". I've tried car, fast, yellow, etc.

And it's the kid's netbook and he's about 11 y/o. So the password can't be anything too complicated.

I'd use L0phtcrack, but if you're looking to just prep a USB for booting check out UNetBootin

Don't change these.
