hello, i recently bought a HD caddy and want to salvage all that i can from a previous harddrive. Problem is that the old harddrive got a rootkit and i don't want to infect the HD i'm currently using with the shit from the old harddrive with the rootkits and God only knows what else. What is the best way to prevent my current HD from being infected when i plug in the caddy with the old HD into my laptop? I have malwarebytes and AVG as antiviruses, but i know rootkits are pretty impossible to deal with properly and i don't want to damage the contents of the HD I'm using now.
