Here's a simple viewer for rule34.paheal.net I wrote for myself some time ago. Thought someone might find it useful. As it is known the site is plagued with 502s, 504s and Timeouts, so browsing through it looking for something good/gross is not the most fluent experience, so this app tries to make this process as painless as possible by downloading all the stuff for you.
It uses web browser as its GUI and works fine in ie, ff and chrome, but not Opera. Also requires Microsoft .NET framework 4.
Basic use: enter tag in the first field - or leave it empty to see all the pics, then first page, then number of pages - if left empty it will be filled for you, then press fetch images and it will begin fetching stuff.
Clicking on a thumbnail will download tags (clicking on them will spawn another instance of the app), comments, and the original image.
Closing the browser window will shutdown the app.
