I need help with my internet; it fucking randomly drops out. What can I do to make that not happen? My router is in a room about 30-50 from my computer. I have AT&T, 2701HG-B router. Some days it'll run perfectly fine, but on days like today it'll just completely fuck up. Lag with facebook chat messages, logging off and logging on to games repeatedly, etc. There are 3 devices (including my own) using it at the moment. Settings I can use to at least make it better? Or just tips in general?
There's really no such thing as a good wireless router. Just draw some wires, or have extra modems installed in the house. You won't have to worry about someone attempting to steal access to your connection, and it won't cut out every fucking half day on you.

Sounds like interference. See what channels your nearby APs are using with netstumbler and set yours to something different.
Also you could have some fag with a 2.4ghz cordless or baby monitor.. you can try different channels, but generally you're fucked.

Well wireless routers generally suck, but if he had a 1200 dollar cisco access point in place it's my experience that for whatever reason it works better than a wrt54g configured as an AP
