Record in Stereo

I use a male/male cable -plugged in the mic and speaker ports- to record sound, but it only records in mono. Is there a way to do this, but record in stereo?

what are you recording? feedback??

seriously tho, is this on a laptop? if not, add a sound card and a small console, run a cable from speaker to console so you can better control volume then another to the input on the sound card, your problem is that the mic port is mono so you can only get one side... unless you send out mixed stereo from the speaker port.

No. Use two channels on the track and bind them both to the mono input.
OR use a mono track.
OR record the sound, then duplicate the track, flip it left-right and then merge them.

just use audacity, go to preferences and set the input to record 2 channels

Don't change these.
