Dongs

Getting ready to buy a PC because my dell laptop is not cutting it for starcraft 2.  As always, I like to drop by the chans and get some opinions on what to look for, since I know there are at least a few of you who know what you're talking about

I'm looking to spend about 600 dollars on a pc and monitor.  The requirements will be something along the lines of...
• 2.2 Ghz Pentium IV or equivalent AMD Athlon processor
• 1 GB system RAM/1.5 GB for Vista and Windows 7
• 128 MB NVidia GeForce 6600 GT/ATI Radeon 9800 PRO video card
• 1024x768 minimum display resolution

I realize that most PCs these days handle these requirements pretty easily, so what I want to ask you is if you have any recommendations on brands, specific models, things to look out for, etc.. pretty much, how I can maximize what I'm getting.

ASUS and Lenovo are my favorite brands. Also Toshiba makes quality laptops as well.

I'd consider buying your monitor used, from something like craigslist.

Your computer wont be a massive upgrade if you cant spend much on it. :|
