How to... Crack a program

Name: Rodrigo 2010-01-14 12:03

I know that this topic maybe have been posted for like 1346783 times, but... Here  it goes again.

I have a trial program that I need it cracked, but can't find anything useful on the net.

That's how the program works:

When first installed it gives me 30 trial days.
After this time period, the program cannot be executed (really?)

If I uninstall and reinstall the application, it tells me that my trial period have already expired (really? again...)

That's the trick:

I've mapped (not me, someone) the registry keys that holds the information to verify my trial time. If i uninstall the application, erase the registry entries and reinstall the program, it gives me more 30 days (wow!).

The only drawback is that it really sucks reinstall the program every 30 days, and yes I use it very often, and no it's not cheap ($15k... is not cheap for me :P).

The real question at last is:

Since I know the registry keys responsible for holding the licensing information, what are my cracking options?

Could anyone point me in the right direction, please?

But keep it simple, I not experienced on these situations :D

Thank Everyone,
Bye

So basically what you're doing is ASKING IN PUBLIC for someone to help you STEAL $15,000 worth of IP?
Were you BORN retarded or did that take some work?

Just write a script that rewrites the registry keys once a day.

Ok,

Let's chance the question a little bit...

It's possible to extract any meaning from a registry key value?

I've got a huge amount of HEX info, there's any way to search for a date or days counter in this HEX soup?

Thanks!
