Network adapter problem

running a mac bridge on my laptop (vista) through to a dell sx280 (windows 7) via ethernet, after bootup it auto gets internets, then i can transfer files and access internet,

 one problem, after a about 5-15 minutes, the network adapter stops on the sx280, internets and fileshare disconnects, and it claims the adapter is working when it has obviously froze, restarting the computer causes shutdown screen to infinately say "shutting down" and it becomes impossible to disable the adapter.

laptop just carries on as if nothing happened,

Only thinks I can think of, which may or may not help you:

-The adapter is going into sleep mode after a certain period of time

-Try updating to the latest drivers.  If they're the most recent, try rolling them back to a previous version.

-Bad ethernet adapter?
