Private domain registration WHOIS

So, I had an idea for the evolution of the image board or perhaps nothing more than an experiment but I am curious about the setup. Obviously 4chan is about anonymity and that aspect carries over into my idea as well.

I'm questioning how was 4chan set up to negate people from simply searching the 4chan WHOIS and using that information for ill effect. I will not be controlling the content because it can't be done. See b/ for example.

Second question and this may be a joke, but how does a 4chan moderator (assuming they exist) ban users if it is so "anonymous"?

I guess in a way I'm starting to question a few things, the actual structure of 4chan that we don't see, as well as the true amount of anonymity one has.

A domain registrar like Moniker.com will let you use their information as the whois information (thus making it private) for something like $3/yr. Legally if someone requests your info they have to give it to you, but for most cases it's good enough.

As far as banning users, they store the IP address associated and just ban based on that.

Don't change these.
