Syntax you keep forgetting

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-21 7:06

ITT commands (mainly for unix-like) that you have to man time and again because you always forget their syntax.

I call GNU tar. Luckily, there's an examples section in the manpage, but srsly, -f must always go there, but god help me if I accidentally add -c when extracting.

Also inb4 flamewar of newfags calling others newfags.

You have to be pretty dumb to confuse -c with -f really.  Switches in programs tend to be quite easy to remember but some times I often have to consult certain switches in grep and find.

I can never remember what comes first in ln, destination or target.

Don't change these.
