GENTLEMEN:
So I have this new lptop I have ESET Smart Security Center as my main protection (AV, Firewall, &c.). I also turned on windows firewall for a bit more protection in real time. I hve windows defender on here for spyware protection. I like defender as opposed to Spybot S&D because the realtime protection offered by defender takes a shitload of less system resources than that of Spybot (Teatimer). Also, the interface of Spybt is alot more cumbersome. But I believe Spybot is better at what the program is actually supposed to do, it seems it updates and checks for significantly more spyware definitions.
So I need help, what's the best program for spyware protection? Uses minimal system resources, works most often in the background, simple user interface, and most importantly best real time spyware protection and removal along with the most comprehensive syware defintion automatic updates? What about the best spyware protection as such in the category of freeware?
Suggestions plox.

If you don't like Spybot for whatever reason, you might like to try Avast! Antivirus It comes with good spyware protection (as well as regular antivirus). It's also free you just need to register on the website for home edition. Home edition doesn't come with a feature built in that automatically scans, but I THINK it automatically updates. Either way, you can use windows task scheduler thing if you want it to scan and update automatically, I believe. It can remove rootkits and shit too, I believe, and uses fairly minimal system resources (except when you make it run on startup, which takes a bit of time I think). Has good realtime protection.
I'd also keep the trial edition of Malwarebytes program along with it, just in case, because it has the capability to remove quite a wide variety of viruses, spyware, etc., many that other programs can't.

Don't change these.
