Archiving Multiple Directories

How would you go about creating archives of multiple directories inside directories?  Situation like porn or comics, where you have Comics\DC\Batman\Specific Series\01\01.rar.  Batch file seems the way to go but I don't know how to get the executable to go down to every last sub-sub-subfolder.

install linux (or run a live cd)
use bash

alternatively learn 2 program (python or perl will be best for this job)

seriously... batch file? WTF!

tar cvf porn.tar porn
