Trying to delet files

Name: Anonymous 2008-12-22 21:31

i need to delete some specific files off a cd. i cant because they're read only and when i try to change them from read only it says that access is denied (now keep in mind that im not very well computer educated, so if this is the natural behavior of a cd, dont laugh at me) so ah, yeh, any suggestions?

it just means your drive is trying to read them so you need to keep trying

those files are part of the cd forever.
get a nail and a magnifying glass. when you look close enough at the cd, you will see where the files are. carefully scratch them away with the nail. when you put the cd back in the drive, you will see, the files are no longer there!

this is probably the only course of action that will work for you, OP

OK. These answers are just beyond retarded. OP what you need to do is take the CD, copy the files you want to keep on the hard drive, destroy CD, then take the files you had on your hard drive and burn them onto a fresh data CD. Simple.

OK. These answers are just beyond retarded. OP what you need to do is take the CD, shove it deep up your ass, give your computer away to the nearest homeless crackhead, and stay away from anything even remotely technologically oriented. Simple.

Unless it's a CD-RW, you can't delete files off of it.
