XP Problems

Heya guys...quick question but go easy on me because I'm a noob to all of this stuff :c


My PC crapped out on me a few days ago after trying to upgrade to Windows Vista. Turns out i didn't have the compatible hardware to upgrade in the first place.

I have a Disk read Error - press CTRL ALT DEL to restart screen that won't go away. What should I do? Are there XP Home Edition discs i could download? What's the process??

First off I wouldn't have gone and made the switch to Vista as it
is not worth it half the time. Second, many device drivers that
worked fine under XP usually break under Vista. I would have left
XP on the computer you're using. And worry about Vista when it's
time to shop for a new PC.

My only advice to you is to buy a XP full installation disc and
downgrade back to XP. All your device drivers and everything
should work fine again. This is one of the major reasons why
Vista has not taken off as fast as it should have.
