Fake Sony memory sticks and such

Name: Anonymous 2008-11-11 17:51

Hi guys. Been reading up on these and it sure looks like the one I got is a fake, even though I bought from a seemingly good seller on eBay. (Sold dozens, if not hundreds with all positive feedback left). So  what I'd like to ask is, what is the actual transfer speed of a real memory stick? This one is going at about 600k per second.

Another thing, as soon as I transferred a few songs to the card it said it was half full. Is that yet another sign it's a fake?

There's been a few other things that guides on the net say it's a fake. Like the capacity, it's 7728 megs for 8gb, the exact number fakes use. It says "Magicgate unknown," another sign.

So yeah, I'm gonna try and fill the card up and see if it really does hold that much. But otherwise, what is the speed it's supposed to run at, and what would you do if you got a fake? The guides say to report it. The seller's gonna be in hot water for this sorta thing. It's technically fraud.
