prob. w/ external...
Lol i have a problem which could potentially be an issue with either of three things...
I have a Seagate 1TB drive, installed in a Rosewill external enclosure, connected to a comp with an ASUS P5N-SLI motherboard.
Now, the Seagate is in SATA, my motherboard has eSATA, and my external enclosure connects the SATA port in its inside to an eSATA socket in its rear outside plate. Both HDD and Mobo runs at 3.0 Gb/s transfer.
The skinny:
-I cannot get my comp to recognize my external drive using eSATA between the external and my comp.
-The drive can be found and detected and works perfectly if i plug it via the external's USB port.
-If i try to shut down or start up with the external HDD connected via eSATA it does not shut/start respectively. Which tells me that it sort of "recognizes" it exists.
-HDD does not show up in Device Management or in Disk Management when connected via eSATA.
-When connected via eSATA and going into BIOS, the disk is recognized when looking at the boot order screen but the drive is recognized in RAID 0 for some reason.
Where do i go, and is this an HDD problem, case problem, or mobo issue?
