lcd screen tripping balls

my parent's computer monitor was acting weird today
when it was turned on it only showed vertical lines in different colors and there was some kind of fading/horizontal moving cloud of colors too
it almost looked like a windows media player visualization, but much more awesome

is it fucked?

Either your monitor is busted or the graphic card is busted.

It's definately the screen, I tried it on my Xbox 360 with the same result. The odd thing is, it works again.

it was probably one of them viruses

Change your graphic card settings to lower acceleration if they are already on low change them to high, in other words: change it to something other than what it is.
