Well I recently built my first and for some reason it won't work now. It consists of:
Asus P5Q SE mobo
Intel E7200 OC'd to 3.5ghz
8gb of RAM
Antec (420watt I believe) Power supply
EVGA 8800GTS
whenever I turned it on the fans would run fast for like a second then go down to idle...now whenever I try to turn it on they just stay at that fast speed and never go down to idle. It also just hangs on a black screen, it won't even show the bios or anything...no clue why.
Before this happened I was in the process of swapping hard drives around to install XP on a second drive but I decided not to and shut it off. However it boot again after that but it wasn't recognizing my DVD drive which is why I restarted it the last time it worked...won't turn on now Everything in there is brand new...
I've got a spare PSU and the comp did the same thing when trying to boot. Occasionally when I try to boot it, it will run the fans for a split second then shut off, then boot again and stay on...by on I mean just hanging there running the fans at max speed...
Tried resetting it via the little jumper, no luck. Tried taking the battery out and resetting it that way...no luck
