DVD burning

What does anonymous use to burn dvds so that they'll play on dvd players? I tried Xilisoft dvd creator and nero vision but they both came out awful and I'm now out of ideas. Halp plox?

Fun fact: dd will bypass it just fine. If a DVD player can read it, your software can too unless the makers go out of their way to disable it.
If your shit software is in constant development, all it means is that either a) it's not done and missing important functionality, or b) the makers are trying to rip you off.
