I need some help selecting computer parts because i've never built a computer before. I've got a list of everything i need but when i go looking for it on Newegg i just feel overwhelmed. Please recommend parts for a high-end gaming PC. Also, i'm trying to stick to a budget of about $2000, but i'd like to be able to run something like Crysis near max settings.

OK you should get a motherboard, cpu, psu, video card, some ram and other extras like a keyboard and mouse and a monitor

Don't build a high-end gaming pc. In half a year your pc will be old, or at least not high end anymore. It's a waste of money, buy a pc with components that are >6 months old, it'll save you money and you won't be able to see much difference anyway
just get everything that is the most expensive in the category, except graphics cards because i dont know anything about those. if you have a budget of 2000, you'll be fine. you also have to make sure everything will work together. look at the specifications tabs and make sure everything lines up. for example, if you buy an AM2 processor, buy an AM2 motherboard. 4 pin power supply, 4 pin input on the board, etc...
