Dear /comp/, my computer has recently become victim to a power surge. I woke up today only to find out that my computer tower could not be turned on. I did, however, find that my speakers, monitor, modem, and printer were not affected. Also, when plugged in, the back of my tower has a flashing green L.E.D. When I removed my power supply from the motherboard and plugged it into the wall, the L.E.D. was solid green, and did not flash. What is most likely the problem with my motherboard, and how should I go about fixing it as cost-effectively as possible?

you should have had opera installed because it has a built in feature that stops power surges from deleting the contents of your system32 folder, which it has clearly done in this case

When that happened to me i just unplugged it from the comp for a few secs and switched off the psu then plugged it in and switched on the psu and then it would power up again.
