Amazing or Stupid?

Dear /comp/, which is better?

a. More RAM, No Swap.
b. Less RAM, with Swap.

Since I was thinking for a Laptop, to minimise hdd usage and conserve power you could:

a. Run with No Swap.
b. Run with a Ramdisk for swap (like a LiveCD).

Disable everything that might write to the disk periodically, ie swap, syslog and all that. Preferrably let acpid do it for you once you plug the AC off and you're on battery. Also let it configure your disk to spin down very soon, ie 1-2 minutes. Of course this makes it mandatory that you found and disabled everything that continuously writes to the disk, so it won't spin up and down all the time.

Don't change these.
