Is it stable or should I bin it and go back to 32 bit? Also, do all 32 bit applications work?

What reason would you have to change to 64bit? Do you have more than 3GB of RAM?
And no, the difference in performance is not noticeable.

I won't bother then if there isn't a difference in performance. That was the main thing I wanted. Is that true of all 64 bit OS's or just Vista? Talking about linux etc here.
Not a question of which OS but rather applications. Some heavy number crunching or encoding applications do benefit but for regular work it's mostly irrelevant. Plus, 64bit introduces new hassles.
Bottom line: The only real reason to use 64bit is if you have more than 3GB of RAM and want to use it all.
