My computers specs are abit low for modern gaming but i can still play most new games, im wondering if getting another gb of ram will help me at all because i've only got 1 gb. my computer set up is

2.6ghz celeron processor(ooollllddd)
1gb ram
ATI radeon 2600 HD pro 512mb

the only reason im asking this is because my processor is old and i dont know if it would be able to use more ram and if me buying more would just be useless, thanks.

You failed to mention that, but judging by the age of your system, you're probably using DDR1 DIMMs. Another gigabyte of RAM would help, yes, but since DDR2 has replaced DDR1, those modules are not made anymore, so they're very cost-inefficient. If you'll buy them, and continue to make decisions like that, you'll stay a poorfag forever.

DDR is still being manufactured (as are even older RAM types), but it is true that low demand increases its cost.

It's still possible to find DDR at prices of around twice that of DDR2, if you watch out for periodic deals.  That's not bad, considering how dirt cheap DDR2 is right now.  I picked up 1 GB of Kingston/Samsung DDR-400 for $20 new late last year.  Similar deals on Crucial/Micron DDR-400 have surfaced since then, for only a little more.

Don't change these.
