I've read the thread and noticed that even after using:

In regards to this, I've also tried editing the 4chan.tw_inline_pos_x and 4chan.tw_inline_pos_y to 10 and refreshing but it just resets to the bottom left of the screen.

Why not use the 4chanX user script? It can do everything 4chan extension can do, but better and with many more features.
Install greasemonkey extension for firefox, which will enable you to install user scripts, then go here http://mayhemydg.github.com/4chan-x/ and install the script.
After it is installed, you will see a [4chan x] link near where the board links are. This link will open settings which will let you choose what features you want.
