Laptop Monitor failed.

My hp pavillion 2000's screen has been broken. The screen displays colour, yes, but there's no light coming out of it ):
Right now I am leaning at an angle in order to shit!. /comp/ got any advice?

I haven't been shitting on my laptop. I was seeing shit because I was on /b/.
Anyway, the backlight came , magically, back on. Could it be the trigger or sensor for Turning off the backlight when closing the laptop that got stuck?
