I've been looking around for a new laptop for college, and I want something that I will be able to use for a long time after I buy it and is worth the money. I've been considering picking up the MacBook Air, but I'm not sure. I've never used a Mac before but I've heard some good things, and it looks nice. I'd be running Linux on it though.
Does anyone have any opinions on whether it's worth buying or not? Or is there a better deal? (I can get anything within the 2k price range, so I want something that will last me at least a couple of years.)
Sorry, im a bit new to buying laptops. What would you guys suggest instead?

Even if you do feel like blowing the money on something pretty, an Air would be a bad idea for a college laptop, since it'd break the first time you left it on a chair and someone sat on it.

You're a bit new to internet, and probably won't be able to install Linux.

MacBook Air isn't a laptop, it's a subnotebook, and a shitty one at that. Don't let the fact that it costs as much as a small car fool you.
Air reeks of macfaggotry, its awful. The multitouch pad thing is good, but that's all really. Oh and the display is ok, but nothing exceptional. Its ridiculous, and as usual apple faggot cunts lap it up. Its a joke.
