If you want 7+ layers of protection, set up seperate servers as firewall, router, http proxy (with malware scanner), mail server (with malware scanner), arpwatch, nagios, IDS (snort/AIDE), honeypot, firewalls on all the clients. Of course that includes disabling unneeded services.

also, delete system32 folder.
