Alright, so I just bought a Visiontek HD 2600 PRO to replace my dieing 6800XT, right? Well after I popped out my 6800 and popped my new card in (Uninstalling all old drivers beforehand) I knew I was in for a hell of a time. I pop in the CD that came with the damn card, and it didn't find any compatible hardware. Damn. So I download the drivers that are on the site, and it gave me the same shit. (http://www.visiontek.com/teksupport/drivers/7.11n_XP_driver.html this is the right driver, right?)
Well afterwards I just went to Add hardware, found the .inf etc etc it installed fine.
So I reboot, glad to see that the resolution is back to 1440x900
All is fine after that, I go on IRC to say "yay," but before I get to do that, my screen turns black. Thinking the cord fell out of the back, I push it in and reboot. Black screen'd. So I reboot in safe mode, and everything is fixed. Aside from the resolution/not being able to play Max Payne 2/overall crap performance, it works fine. Thinking that it was finally fixed, I reboot normally. Black screen yet again. So now I'm stuck here, /tech/, in safe mode. This laggy scroll is pissing me off. Any suggestions?
(Also, sorry for the tl;dr, but I wanted to be as clear as possible.)
P.S; I guess it's worth mentioning that I have a good 10 minutes of use before the black screen.
