For a company of over 50 employees that does software development and runs high traffic web sites, what software would you recommend as essential? Would you try to be as minimally dependent on Microsoft as possible (SUSE, etc)? Would file managing software like Netware be needed, or would it be superfluous? Recommend a particular server software, database software, compiler, OS, etc.
