For a company of over 50 employees that does software development and runs high traffic web sites, what software would you recommend as essential? Would you try to be as minimally dependent on Microsoft as possible (SUSE, etc)? Would file managing software like Netware be needed, or would it be superfluous? Recommend a particular server software, database software, compiler, OS, etc.
I must have experienced some kind of miracle then, the computer I'm using right now has NEVER had ANY Microsoft software installed on it. I use GNU/Linux, and it runs, "from start to finish" (whatever you think that means) perfectly.
Now I think YOU need to re-examine YOUR assumptions. Because YOU're the one assuming stuff here. If you knew what you're talking about you wouldn't say stupid shit like that.
