Ubuntu Wireless Troubles :(

Name: Anonymous 2007-12-28 3:51

Okay, /comp/, halp me. /g/ has failed me. So here's the question they failed to deliver upon. :/

I just installed Ubuntu on my old Thinkpad, which used to run Windows 2000. I have a Linksys Wireless-G Notebook Adapter card with Speedbooster (that's WPC54GS version 2). I've followed all the proper steps as listed at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=378179 and it still doesn't work. I'm thinking the card itself must be having some kind of problem. The power light is on, but no link light. Any suggestions?

HALP PLOX.

Compile the driver as a module (not hardwired in the kernel). Make sure the module does not get loaded at boot time (by UDEV or similar) and boot normally. Do tail -f /var/log/messages and load the module manually. Post the output in your log file.

Also post information (config files for example) on how you have configured the network settings for that interface. DHCP? Encryption? etc.

Don't change these.
