Windows not detecting RAM

Name: Anonymous 2007-12-17 21:23

I have 2 512MB sticks of RAM, but Windows is only detecting 768MB of it. Any ideas what is causing this?

LMAO, sounds like one memory bank only excepts 256MB... Read your motherboard manual first!

My motherboard didn't come with a manual, and I've looked all over the internet for it.

INTEGRATED VIDEO?

Sounds like a conflict with your /system/ and /system32/ folders, you should probably delete any suspicious looking files (most of what is in there) and you should be OK.

You were supposed to steal the manual too.

system32 is just a backup anyway, delete it, reboot and let it rebuild, some of your programs might be referencing it.

Your RAM stick is lying to you. It's not 512.

yeah and its a good idea to try and uninstall some of these 'programs' as they are usually viruses or spyware from microsoft trying to reference all your personal info so they can trick you into buying a '512mb RAM stick' which is really only 256mb

Don't change these.
