AGP question

Dear 4chan techies,

I'm planning to buy a new AGP 8x based graphic card(GeForce 6X/7X). Problem is, my old motherboard seems to only support 4x.

My question is,
is it possible to use the new card with my old AGP 4x system?

Any help/laugh is appreciated.

i use an 6800GT in a 4x AGP slot, dont seem to have any problems in games like hl2, dawn of war, company of heroes etc.

the slowest one will chain all of them down to it's speed
You can even stick it into a pII an play starcraft
