Just got computer back...

...and now I get to redo everything now, bookmarks and whatnot.  I can handle those easy, but for whatever reason my computer is back to annoying-as-fuck defaults.

1. Whenever I backspace and there's nothing to delete, my computer beeps.  It didn't even do this shit when I first took it out of its box and installed XP for the first time, so I've no fucking clue how to turn that shit off.  I tried turning off beeps in regedit, but that didn't do shit.

2. Clicking and dragging won't let me add items to the taskbar bit right next to the start button, and there's no items already there for me to simply right click and change the properties of.  How do I added items?

Also, the fucking taskbar icon for my mouse is missing.  For those that use Logitech mice, where do you configure the buttons from?

Also also, I used to have the annoying dropdown search thing on Firefox's google box turned off.  How do I turn it off again?

Install a real OS. If you're starting from scratch anyway, it'll be worth it.

1. What kind of beep? The type that comes from your speakers or the type that comes from your computer itself? If the former, change it in the sound settings. If the latter, change in the volume settings.
Going through regedit for this is so wrongheaded I have no idea why you thought it'd work.
