keeping track of bookmarks

The bookmark management in Firefox sucks.  It's not practical if you have hundreds of bookmarks.  I can only view about 30 bookmarks on screen at one time, and there is no analogue of dragging and dropping a selection from one window to another like when I manage files.

Anyone have a better way to organize bookmarks?

You do know that you can create folders and subfolders?

Bookmark folders aren't enough.  I can't open a folder and keep it open in a single window, so I'm always clicking through long trees or lists to get to every bookmark.
