I have locally gigabit over copper ethernet, but the lines to the WAN are only 100 mbit. I'd like to go from having three computers with their three seperate 100 mbit connections to just having all three local computers attached to a gigabit connection and have that gigabit switch have multiple connections to the WAN. If I plug the three WAN connections into my shitty unmanaged gigabit switch, will it automagically load balance the traffic so that I can use 3x the bandwidth?

op here: Do I need some sort of extra machine with a ton of NICs to use as a load balancer?
If your switch has no load-balacing features, which is probably unlikely, just use another Linux/FreeBitchesSuckDick system to do the load-balancing.
3 WAN lines <-> Switch <-> [Gigabit NIC] - Load-balancer - [Gigabit NIC] <-> Another switch <-> LAN
Or, instead of the WAN-facing switch, if you can get a system and put 4 nics in it (3 for the WAN, 1 for the LAN), you'd be set. Building your own switch basically.
Good luck configuring this shit though. You'll be editing config files so much you're going to shit ASCII for the next year and a half.
There's probably some Cisco device that does all this. Probably costs about 10 grand. Check their catalog.
