I'm moving to Japan in a week, and I plan on bringing my external hard drive + laptop so that I'll have plenty of movies there already as opposed to shelling out yen billions on the media there. There is, however, a problem.
My laptop, like many, has an s-video out component which can display my desktop onto a TV. The only problem is that it will not display window. I know that usually these components are meant for powerpoint presentations, etc. I do believe that there is a way to get around this problem without buying an all new video card. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a driver/codec that can correct this? Please let me know as it will be very helpful on my long stay away from home.
