Game troubles

Here's the deal. Whenever I try to play any game at all, even zsnes, the game uses up 99%-100% of my cpu. I've tried messing with all the settings but nothing seems to fix it. The only thing I can think of is that I recently moved and something in the computer got broken. However, it works perfectly fine for everything except gaming.

Any ideas?

stop using vista

I'm running XP actually.

Install a clean second copy of Windows. Install the latest DirectX, drivers and shit and see if it works better. If it does, just continue using that installation and copy your data over to it.
