Hard drive recovery

My hard drive wont spin for reasons unknown to me so I figure that its finished and not going to work anymore. I would like to know if its possible to recover the data on it and if so how can I do it?

There is a programme available from http://www.grc.com called SpinRite.  I think it costs about $90, but it is effective.  It may take a while, but as long as the drive isn’t clicking, it should completely recover the drive.
