Alright, I'm fucked, with no knowhow.

Here's the problem:

My internet browsers (Firefox, IE) will not load any single webpage, it just automatically goes to the 'done' status. I'm currently using a Bitcomet Browser to access the internet, so i know it's nothing to do with my connection, and it must be something to do with the browsers.

I've ran several malware, spyware and antivirus scans, with a few results which I had quarantined. I've system restored at least 30 times, with only a few sucessful restores, but only one of them having any effect, But the problem arose again within a day or two.

So yeah, I have no fucking clue what's causing it or why it's like this. Any help at all? I'm fairly stupid with things like this, so you'll have to be a tad patient. Sorry, but it's really fucking me off now.

Start->Cmd->telnet www.4chan.org 80[enter]->GET / HTTP/1.1[enter]->[enter]->if you get HTML you have AIDS, if you don't ur intarweb is broke

Right, done that and obviously, my interweb is broke.

Yet for some reason, I can still use other programs to browse the web just fine.

I checked the windows error log, and apparently firefox is a faulting program and there's a load of Dhcp errors. Your computer was not assigned an address from the network; your ip lease ##### r the network card with network adress ##### has been denied by the dhcp.

So i'm fairly certain that'd what's up.

How could i fix both the faulty program and the ip/dhcp problems?

Thanks

What "other programs"?

Sounds like you got banned or haven't paid your Internet bill.

do you have a router? restart it!
what os do u have? xp? get to your network connections, right click your current network connection and repair! wait till it finishes, if not, restart router and do it again.

I can still use IE on the other computer in the house, no problem. And i can use the Bitcomet Resource Browser to get around on the net, as I am doing now.

So again, I'm fairly certain that it's an internet error, and nothing to do with my ISP.

I've used the network repair tool a few times, including a wisock reset program. Neither methods work. I think i'll try resetting my router tomorrow, to see if that helps, but it won't fix my faulty firefox program.

Thanks for everyone's help, by the way. I'm just still struggling with it, and I can't understand why my computer's suddenly gone on the fritz.

Not a firewall error, both IE and Firefox are accepted programs, and I've made sure of that.

And yes I do have a firewall, I'm not that much of a moron, thankyou.

Opera works just fine, just IE and firefox don't.

And I've reinstalled both. I've reinstalled and deleted all of the program files before reinstalling, just to make sure, but there's no change.

I actually quite like opera. It's not bad.

Considered it, but if there's an easier route, I'd prefer to take that.

Don't change these.
