Processors

I'm searching for a laptop now, and I'm seeing laptops, by the same manufacturer, with lower processor speeds, more expensive, and with higher processor model numbers. Wut?

Is there something special about the processor that only clocks 1.6 GHz that makes it better than the cheaper laptop which clocks 2? I would suppose so, because otherwise, why would the 1.6 be a newer model?

What am I missing?

Yes.  It's faster.

dual cores are better for multi-tasking, not good for games right now, since most games don't support mt/mc yet.
