GIF question

Name: Anonymous 2007-08-14 8:40 ID:qvTKwf66

I need to reduce a .gif's filesize so I can upload it to my mobile. How do I do this?

By using Save for Web in Photoshop

A GIF file is essentially at its minimum size, with 8-bit color codes and LZW compression.  Since PNG files use better compression methods, see if your mobile will take those.

Lulz, you have no fucking idea about what you're talking about. Firstly, the OP might want an animated .GIF on his phone (can't have animation/multiple frames with .PNGs), and secondly, .PNG is a lossless format, which means larger file sizes.

You assumed, I assumed.  What's the fucking difference?  It's still true that PNGs are like GIFs but use better compression.  GIFs are a lossless format too, berk.

You'd better run on over and update the wiki with your wisdom.  Wotta rube!

Don't change these.
