My computer got faster... so it gets slower

Name: Anonymous 2007-08-12 6:11 ID:J82iZt3e

I upgraded my computer to 1 gig RAM, now I get about 2 fps in CS.

So I swapped my Nvidea 64mb video card for a 128mb ATI card, then for a 256MB card. Thas makes no difference. then I reinstalled windows. It didn't do anything

I don't want to go back to 512 megs, as it runs a lot faster with 1 gig. Can anyone think why a computer would do that?

Is there a BIOS setting for slowing down the graphics card?

You reinstalled Windows in lieu of further testing, AND you expect answers without providing adequate info about your hardware.

Whatever.  Describe hardware.

32bit 1800 AMD anthlon processor
SODIMM DDR 2x512MB 400mhz ram
64MB Geforce3 NVidia Video card (can replace with 256MB ATI)

It's a bit vague, the motherboard is 3 years old. downloading Aida32 to check it out
