Purple screen with MPC and WMP

Alright guys, I've got a question. So, from time to time my MPC, WMP, and anything embedded in a website that runs with WMP get this purple layer over it, and i checked M$'s website, no help there, and I haven't had any luck with Google unless I'm missing something that's really fucking obvious and I'm just retarded. The only way I've been able to fix it is to restart my PC, which is annoying.

Anyone know anything about this or how to fix it?

oh yeah right. everything in windows works perfectly.
