regedit.exe

Alright, so I was trying to get a keycode for D2 the other night.
In doing so, I downloaded a cracker that gave me nasty malware and/or a virus.
I got rid of most of the problems, but I keep getting this program in my task manager as regedit.exe
I looked around and found out it was a trojan known as brid.a.
I downloaded Symantec's removal tool, but it crashed (oddly) before completing.
Is there any way I can remove it manually or anyone know another removal tool?

They have a specific removal tool for it. They have a download and instructions....
http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2002-110417-1631-99&tabid=3
I dont know if this is the one from the OP, but worth a try again.
Taken from the page...

"Whether you remove this threat manually or by using the removal tool, on Windows 98/Me computers, it is likely that the worm has overwritten the Windows file Msconfig.exe. Although this file is not necessary for Windows to function, it is a useful tool, and should be replaced from a clean backup or reinstalled."

So I was right before I even researched it, damn I'm good.
