Fedora core 7

so yeah, downloaded the ISO and burned it to a DVD, installed it and when i go to boot it up for the first time it hangs on uncompressing the kernel. tried another disk and still i get the same thing, any way any ideas on how to fix this problem, if not any distributions that would be better (preferably something that will run NDIS wrapper as my comp is a notebook).

It could be your motherboard. Any linux older than 2.6.18 fails to load on my asus p5be.

this is core 7 just came out like last month, its using the latest ver of the kernel and it installs fine it just refuses to boot the kernel, or well it locks up wail trying to decompress the kernel. i am sorta leaning towards just finding a new distro, used mint and SuSE and didnt like the set up of there GNOME menu, but any suggestions would be much unappreciated.
