.zip password cracking

So ive got a .zip file with a password, only the password is in japanese. Ive tried brute forcing it with japanese character sets only all so far have failed. Are there programs that can extract a .zip whilst ignoring the password entirely?

I don't really know anything how the password protection works but I doubt you can bypass the password.  If the data was actually unencrypted and the password was just a software lock then you would think that trivial programs to get the data would be readily available and widely known.
